Solid Cherry Entryway Bench with Lower Storage Shelf

A low, sturdy bench built for the spot right inside your door. Sit down to pull your boots on, then slide them onto the shelf underneath and out of the walkway. At 36 inches wide it seats two comfortably without eating up a narrow hall.

Made from solid cherry and finished in a deep reddish brown with a hand rubbed satin sheen. The finish is low luster, not glossy, so it does not show every fingerprint and it warms up over time the way cherry does.

Construction

Four thick square legs run straight to the floor with no taper and no wobble. Angled corbels at the top of each leg tie into the apron and carry the seat load. The seat is a single flat slab with a softly rounded edge that is easy on the backs of your legs. The lower shelf is a thick solid panel with a front rail, open at both ends so longer items slide in from the side.

No visible hardware anywhere on the piece. No screws, no brackets, no metal feet. Just wood joinery and finish.

A note on wood

Cherry darkens with age and light exposure. The piece you receive will deepen in color over the first year and settle into a richer tone. Grain and color vary board to board, which means your bench will not be identical to the photos. That is how solid wood works.
