The piece pairs a tall integrated backboard with a sturdy shelf seat, perfect for pulling on shoes, dropping a bag, or styling a vignette of vases, books, and candles. Two slim matte-black steel stays with rounded ball finials anchor the seat to the backboard, blending Japandi restraint with a hint of industrial detail. Below, two soft-close drawers offer hidden storage for keys, mail, gloves, leashes, and the small chaos of daily life. Hand-cut dovetail joinery is left exposed on the side panel — a quiet signature of how it's built.
